Arthur Hunt is the administrator at the Sunrise Cafe New Haven, which is a member of the Coordinated Food Assistance Network. They provide non-perishable, shelf-stable meals to about 2,000 low-income, food-insecure, high COVID risk families in and around New Haven, CT. Sunrise Cafe has been serving free breakfasts to the homeless since 2015.

Challenges

The Sunrise Cafe started utilizing deliveries to get more meals out to families. Prior to discovering Route4Me, Arthur wasn’t able to plan routes without predefining drivers or vehicle capacity.

Solution

Arthur tested out multiple routing apps and Route4Me came out on top. With Route4Me, The Coordinated Food Assistance Network was able to increase deliveries from 20 families to over 2,000 with the same staff and over 300 other volunteer drivers. Route4Me, helped the Sunrise Cafe keep up with demand and figure out the number of volunteers who needed to be recruited each week.
